Responsibilities

Lead the budget development process for a large state agency
Prepare, enter, and maintain the annual budget request utilizing past data analysis
Download financial reports to track/analyze payments, receipts, and cash balances for the department
Direct, analyze and facilitate budgeting for all divisions/bureaus of the Department of Public Safety by creating financial statements monthly
Collaborate with executive management on analysis of the agency budget by leading quarterly meetings
Ensure projects are on track and being invoiced as expected, income and expenditures are accurately reflected, and discuss explanations of significant budget changes
Develop and maintain an analytical model for forecasting to assure financial feasibility for future projects
Create, analyze, maintain and update yearly costing allocations to insure proper allocation of expenses

Required

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, and experience equal to six years of full-time work in professional budget analysis or fiscal management
Ten years of full-time work experience in professional budget analysis or fiscal management
A total of ten years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in accounting, finance, or business administration equals one year of full-time experience
Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes eighteen months of full-time work as a Budget Analyst 3 or six months of full-time work as a Budget Analyst 4
