Southeast Distribution Sales Manager

Responsibilities

Work closely JA Solar’s Senior Sales Leaders in the US market to build strategic partnerships with national distributors
Identify leading distribution offices in the Southeast region, meet with the local GMs and sales teams to understand their needs and to position JA Solar to answer those needs
Build out a database of the leading residential and small commercial installers in the Southeast; Visit these customers to build the JA brand and support their procurement efforts through JA Solar’s distribution partners in the Southeast
Coordinate joint calls and sales efforts with distribution partners to support strategic downstream customers
Meticulously build, manage and sustain a pipeline of opportunities in the distribution channel
Achieve volume and margin targets for region and distribution team national target
Participate in national and regional trade shows/conferences to promote the JA Solar brand, support distribution customer events and to identify new downstream customers
Develop a comprehensive understanding of JA Solar, its products and its market strategy
Collect market intel and provide a weekly update on competitor products, pricing and industry trends
Compose a weekly report of activity, travel and customer visits, as well as upcoming travel and items of key focus such as key prospect visits, contract negotiation, RFP responses, etc
Able and willing to travel 30-50% within the sales region; national travel 3-4 times per year
Hit quarterly and annual volume and revenue targets
Increase sales to existing distribution customers in territory and close sales with new distribution companies/offices in region
Start up sales with a minimum of 20 distribution offices in the region, stretch target of 30
Make regular weekly, quarterly visits to distribution offices and leading downstream installers in territory; make JA highly visible in the channel
Participate in regional tradeshows to support JA
Manage ongoing pipeline of opportunities with deal specifics and probabilities
Track and manage SPA documents, open orders, customer credit lines and available inventory
Support marketing efforts in collaboration with distributors
Provide regular open order reports to distribution partners
Collect, catalog and share market intelligence including, but not limited to: new and mainstream products (format, size, type, output), market pricing, updates on competitors, state and national policies, updates on customers

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing or equivalent
4-7 years of sales experience in solar, specifically as a manufacturer's rep to the distribution channel
Highly knowledgeable with respect to the industry, technology and C&I/community solar sector
Role is fully remote – candidate must have prior experience and proven career success while working as a remote employee with minimal supervision
Ability to manage and support multiple projects simultaneously, with varying complexities and urgencies presented day to day
Excellent people, entrepreneurial, organizational, and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Effective computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Willing to travel up to 30% of the time, including internationally
Must hold valid Driver License and passport, and be able of securing a China multi-entry business visa
