Vice Chair for Clinical Operations, Department of Radiology, Dartmouth Health
Dartmouth Health’s Department of Radiology is seeking a Vice Chair for Clinical Operations to lead and optimize clinical operations within their dynamic department. The role involves improving operations at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and overseeing the clinical services to ensure high-quality patient care and educational excellence.

Responsibilities
Define and execute a vision for modern, efficient, safe, and high-quality clinical operations
Improve operations at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC)
Provide main physician oversight over the day-to-day professional clinical operations of the Department
Optimize physician staffing/scheduling
Interface between technologists, nurses, and physicians
Interface between clinical operations and our quality team
Interface between clinical operations and IT
Support all three core missions of the Department: Clinical Excellence, Supporting Education, and Supporting Scholarship
Develop new services and hone existing ones with an eye towards continuous improvement and patient satisfaction
Collaborate with executive leadership, other department chairs, and division leads to optimize clinical care across the enterprise
Work closely with the Vice Chair for Education, Program Directors, and other educational leaders
Build curricula to teach trainees regulatory, financial, and logistical aspects of modern medical practice
Encourage faculty participation in national societies and organizations
Qualification
Required
American Board of Radiology Certified in Diagnostic Radiology
Must obtain and maintain a medical license in both New Hampshire and Vermont
Training and/or experience in clinical operations, clinical excellence, and/or quality
The ability to be appointed at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor rank, depending on experience, with a preference for candidates at the Associate or Full Professor rank
This is a 1.0 FTE position
Preferred
Demonstrated success within an academically oriented radiology department preferred; a track record of delivering strong results that are mission-driven
Proven ability to mentor and sponsor others
Participation in national societies and organizations preferred
Experience in local, national, or international speaking/teaching is preferred
