Responsibilities
Perform in vitro cell cultures of glomerular endothelial cells, tubular endothelial cells, and tubular epithelial cells and test whether overexpression or knockdown of LRG1 affects cell function and downstream signaling pathways
We have generated transgenic mouse models with overexpression or knockdown of LRG1 in endothelial cells and tubular cells. We will test whether these mice develop more or less kidney injury
Techniques include cell culture, western blot, qPCR, genotyping of mice, mouse breading, kidney histology analysis, immunostaining, determination of urine albumin and renal function
Qualification
Required
Postdoc should have medical training (MD equivalent) or basic science training and is familiar with kidney disease pathogenesis (Nephrology training)
Candidate should have basic training in medical research and know how to perform basic benchwork and animal studies
