Responsibilities

Cultivating lasting relationships with parents, families, and campus partners to strengthen ties with UCLA
Shaping and implementing strategies that promote student success, retention, and graduation
Managing and executing all school-wide parent communications
Managing the UCLA Parents’ Council and parent/family volunteer structure
Leading staff in the planning and implementation of events for parents and families of undergraduate students

Required

Minimum of five years' experience in an alumni affairs and/or parent/family oriented role to include demonstrated volunteer and/or constituent leadership development experience including volunteer recruitment, stewardship, training and management
Experience establishing, overseeing and evaluating collaborations and initiatives, and in developing support among both internal campus constituencies and external partners
Strong background in program/project management including identifying and setting priorities, performing detailed needs analysis, identifying stakeholders, developing action plans, segmenting projects and initiatives into their component parts/managing the process from inception to completion
Strong interpersonal skills to interact courteously and effectively with co-workers, volunteers, donors, key university officials and other internal and external constituents while maintaining composure under pressure
Superior analytical ability to define problems and meet objectives, identify relevant factors and concerns, formulate logical objective conclusions, and recognize alternatives and their implications
Demonstrated ability to work equally well as a team and independently and to plan, organize and prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously; provide proficient follow-up and make effectively timely decisions under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong ability to speak clearly and distinctly, using grammatically correct language to obtain and convey information accurately and precisely by phone, in person and in writing
Proficient in using Microsoft Suite of applications to include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.; experience using social media platforms with ability to learn other social media platforms and new technologies as needed in a prompt and efficient manner
Detail-oriented, goal-oriented, well organized and focused with a high level of initiative and energy
Skill in using judgment in situations requiring independent initiative and tact; ability to handle confidential matters in a sensitive and discreet manner
Resourceful with skill in using resources available to gather information needed to complete projects; able to work effectively in a large, complex and dynamic organization
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

Preferred

Experience working in educational and/or nonprofit client service-oriented environment is highly desirable
Bachelor's Degree
