Reliability Engineer

UBE C1 Chemicals America is seeking a Reliability Engineer to enhance plant production and equipment reliability. Responsibilities

Collaborates with Operations personnel in troubleshooting problems from a mechanical perspective
Maintain and improve plant reliability through identifying/correcting operational reliability opportunities
Collaborate with Maintenance and Reliability groups to identify and correct bad actors, drive root cause failure analysis, meet mechanical integrity requirements and implement preventive/predictive maintenance programs
Provide expertise for turnarounds from a mechanical operations perspective. Helps to set strategies, schedules, objectives, manage scope and operational services as requested
Accountable for creating preventative maintenance plans. Validates the frequencies and required time needed to complete PM work, with assistance from the appropriate personnel (i.e., Planners, Craft Supervisors, etc.), and documents
Review and contributes to programs for critical equipment analysis and condition monitoring techniques
Review deficiencies noted during corrective maintenance activities to continually evaluate the effectiveness of preventative and predictive maintenance programs
Consults with Maintenance Technicians on technical problems including advanced troubleshooting and equipment redesign
Ensures compliance with all applicable pressure equipment, pipeline and statutory requirements
Aids in the design review of any temporary leak repairs and piping systems
Assists with other disciplines (Rotating, I/E, etc.) as required
Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes and standards such as ASME, API (510, 570, 653), and NBIC
Participate in critical site-evaluations such as Process Hazard Analyses (HAZOPs) and Process Safety Management (PSM) reviews

Required

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Reliability Engineer in a petrochemical environment
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred, or other relevant Engineering discipline
Experience with development and implementation of Maintenance Equipment Strategies
Experience with Predictive and Preventative Maintenance Programs
Experience with static equipment with API 510, 570 and 653 certifications
Demonstrated ability to understand and make meaningful impact to technical requirements on projects
Hold optimization of equipment maintenance activities and strategies background
Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation abilities with the capacity to understand complex problems and distill the message into a clear plan
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
Demonstrated success in safety performance management

Ability to work closely with both the Production Team and Technical Team to ensure the reliability and continuous improvement of the systems
Understand the economic impact of plant availability is significant and modify in progress construction projects; make appropriate adjustments to schedules as needed and communicate changes to appropriate parties
Interpret, analyze, apply, articulate, and ensure compliance with relevant laws, rules, contracts, ordinances, regulations and guidelines
Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals
Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance

Preferred

Master's degree or certifications, in, Engineering or other technical field from an accredited college or university
Extensive experience in developing inspection and reliability programs
Established global networks of reliability companies and professionals
Participation on regional and global committees for equipment standards and specifications
Experience with Root Cause Analysis
Experience with developing repair plans
Experience with static equipment
General awareness of Pressure Safety Valves and Pressure Relief Valves (PSVs/PRVs)
Fully proficient in computer software such as MS Excel, MS Word. Experience with PI and Maximo (or other similar ERP/CMMS) would be advantageous
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS software
Familiarity with applicable mechanical integrity and inspection software systems (e.g., PCMS, Meridium) AND SAP S4, EDMS (e.g. Hexagon SDx) and Aveva PI is a plus
Maintenance and testing of safety shutdown systems
Experience in manufacturing environments fostering a positive workplace culture
Operations and maintenance expertise with a strong focus on safety
Collaborative experience working with engineering, quality, finance, and supply chain teams
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
Must have a valid state issued driving license
TWIC Card
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, and rules of composition and grammar
Willingness to work flexible schedules and respond to off-shift support needs as required
