The State of Alaska, Department of Administration, Division of Finance is seeking an experienced Senior HRIS Analyst / Programmer to join their team. The role involves advocating for the needs of the state’s HRIS, providing technical assistance, and leading HRIS projects while collaborating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Representing and advocating for the needs of the state’s HRIS both within the Division of Finance as well as with other state agencies and providing technical assistance to organizations outside of the Division who need to receive or provide information about HR and payroll
Acting as team lead or supervisor, providing guidance and direction to other HRIS team members and contractors, implementing HRIS projects, monitoring contractual services and overseeing payroll production processing
Analyzing complex and mission-critical requirements and determining how these requirements can best be met using the state’s HRIS. Analyzing the effect of proposed or enacted legislation on the HRIS and serve as a consultant to management in the determination of the feasibility of implementing proposed changes
Qualification
Required
Six years of computer programming experience, of which, at least two years were at the project leader or systems design level
Two years of experience must have been in a business application, scientific application, microcomputer or computer information management support specialty
A bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Science (CS) or Computer Information Systems (CIS), or a related degree with (18) semester/(24) quarter hours of CS or CIS may substitute for one year of the required experience
An associate's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems may substitute for nine months of the required experience in a specialty area
There is no substitute for the systems analysis and design or project leadership experience
