Bilingual Facilitator

The Bilingual Facilitator will serve as a remote instructor, conducting webinars on topics related to domestic violence prevention and ensuring client engagement and understanding of the course material.

Responsibilities

Conduct live, scheduled webinars utilizing curriculum on topics related to domestic violence prevention, parenting, healthy relationships, emotional regulation, and accountability
Facilitate interactive, instructional webinars for clients by maintaining established norms and teaching program content. Foster a respectful, non-judgmental, and inclusive online learning environment
Follow curriculum format for each webinar with compassionate and skilled delivery of concepts, strategies, and material
Provide strategies to hold clients accountable. Provide feedback and guidance to participants on their performance and progress toward meeting course objectives
Encourage active participation by facilitating questions and discussions
Monitor individual participation and address any disruptive behaviors. Monitor client behavior during webinars and alert Client Support regarding absences, no shows, suspected substance abuse, or breach of norms
Troubleshoot technical issues that participants may face during the webinar, ensuring smooth operation of the virtual learning platform
Maintain accurate attendance records. Complete weekly status report for each client’s progress and review monthly summary data
Address any conflicts or challenges that may arise during sessions with professionalism and adherence to program guidelines
De-escalate situations of frustration or defensiveness using conflict resolution techniques
Review and understand all course materials provided by the program and its objectives to effectively communicate the program's goals
Perform job functions in compliance with penal code
Work closely with the program coordinator and other facilitators to maintain the integrity of the course curriculum
Attend team meetings and contribute feedback to improve the program
Other duties as assigned
Incumbent must maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment in performing assigned duties

Required

Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social work, Law Enforcement or related field. Commensurate experience in allied industry may be considered
Certificate of completion of state approved DV-BIP training program required (may be provided during hiring process by company)
Annual requirement of 16 CEUs, 8 must be specifically in Domestic Violence
Demonstrated compassionate experience serving at-risk populations
Skillful group facilitation proficiency
Experience in education, communications, social work or psychology as a service provider
Specific knowledge regarding, but not limited to, spousal abuse, child abuse, sexual abuse, substance abuse, the dynamics of violence and abuse, the law, and procedures of the legal system
Fluent in Spanish
Be violence free for a minimum of five years prior to facilitation of group sessions (unless under special circumstances pre-approved by the probation departments) and remain violence free
Be free of criminal convictions for any serious crime, and have at least 2 years of non-probation/parole status
Ability to attend and maintain continuing education units
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Zoom. Ability to work on a computer for up to eight hours in a day (with meal or rest breaks)
Intuitive software skills
Communicate with an encouraging and compassionate attitude, both orally and in writing. Ability to clearly convey information and guide participants through sensitive and complex topics
Strong capacity to understand participant emotions and provide compassionate support without judgment
Skilled at handling difficult or tense interactions during webinars while maintaining control of the session
Perform tasks independently within established timeframes
Ability to tailor teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of webinar participants
Respect for and sensitivity to the backgrounds, beliefs, and values of participants from diverse cultures
Ability to monitor participant engagement and progress, ensuring program requirements are met
Quick decision-making in addressing technical issues or participant concerns that may arise during live sessions
Maintain professional manners
Reliable and diligent work ethic
Organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple assigned work activities with effective follow through
Work independently in the absence of instructions and maintain strict confidentiality
