Research Area Specialist Sr- Term Limited
The University of Michigan's Craniofacial Research Laboratory is seeking a Research Area Specialist Sr to oversee various research projects aimed at improving tissue healing. Responsibilities
Supervise data collection and manage data for pre-clinical research projects related to bone healing
Develop, design, and conduct research projects; review progress and evaluate results
Write research grants and animal protocols
Manage and train full- and part-time research assistants
Formulate research methods and suggest options for improving quality, identify potential problems, recommend and implement solutions
Write and edit presentation abstracts and manuscripts
Organize and maintain study documentation
Present findings at various local, regional, and national meetings
Qualification
Required
Masters degree
5-6 years of related experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted, including relevant undergraduate and graduate student experience
Knowledge of IACUC research applications and amendments
Excellent animal husbandry and surgery skills, specifically in orthopedic and plastic surgery procedures
Experience maintaining compliance with regulatory oversight organizations
Demonstrated experience with medical imaging modalities, such as MRI and CT
Radiation administration qualification
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent organizational skills and strong writing ability
Extensive experience in grant writing
Demonstrated ability to balance multiple projects and multitask
Preferred
PhD in a biomedical field
