Responsibilities
Define and drive a growth agenda for R&D, WOTC, 45L, 179D, and state/federal incentives
Architect a technology-led, client-obsessed platform that serves founder-led, PE-backed, and growth-stage companies with scalable precision
Represent Occams at the highest levels—with clients, regulators, and global partners—as an ambassador of intellect, impact, and integrity
Infuse automation, AI, and data analytics into the full credit lifecycle—from discovery and documentation to submission and defense
Convert complexity into simplicity. Codify your insights into replicable, proprietary methodologies that elevate the industry standard
Lead a multidisciplinary team of tax specialists, technologists, and growth strategists
Create proprietary IP, tools, and scalable processes to establish Occams as the market leader in credit advisory
Identify high-growth verticals (e.g., healthcare, advanced manufacturing, clean tech, ESG) and tailor strategies for penetration
Deliver impact for mid-market and emerging enterprises navigating complex structures, post-reorg strategies, and liquidity inflection points
Function as strategic counsel, not just a technical expert—ensuring that tax credits become value accelerators and liquidity catalysts
Shape the go-to-market strategy in collaboration with capital, advisory, and tech teams
Qualification
Required
15+ years of progressive experience in tax credits
Advanced knowledge of IRC Sections 41, 45L, 179D, ERC, and WOTC
Founder DNA: You think like a builder, act like an owner, and lead with bold clarity
Strategic Intellect: Able to bridge the granular with the grand—to solve today's challenges while architecting tomorrow's platform
Client-Centric: Unyielding in the pursuit of excellence, relevance, and impact for clients
Proven record of applying technology to scale professional services—SaaS, low-code tools, data-driven dashboards, etc
Ability to collaborate with product and engineering teams to develop tech-enabled services
Preferred
CPA or JD preferred
Multi-jurisdictional experience highly valued
