Responsibilities
Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks
Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes
Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics)
Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data
Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports
May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis
The CVN TV Systems Lead is responsible for leading a team of technicians to develop test procedures, groom/troubleshoot and test TV systems including TV Studio and Control Room, TV Distribution (RF and Network based), Shipboard Video Distribution System (SVDS), Shaft Alley and Propulsion Plant Monitoring, I-Stalker, Surveillance and Security, and ILARTS
The Lead must be able to effectively communicate with external customers including SUPSHIP, SPAWARS Atlantic, CAFSU, and Ship’s Force as well as coordinate with many different internal organizations to safely and successfully accomplish TV system testing on all CVN projects
Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, or optical areas
Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems
Works from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions
Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format
Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions
Qualification
Required
Associate's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience
NNS Apprentice School graduate
Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
US Citizenship Required for this Position
Clearance Required: Yes- Final Clearance Required to Start
Travel Requirement: Yes, 10%-25% of the time
Preferred
Position will have daily shipboard access
Should not have a fear of heights and be able to climb interior/exterior vertical ladders which span multiple decks
Should be able to work multiple shifts and weekends
Should be able to go to sea during Test Trials
The ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel is essential
