Latitude Legal is seeking a California-licensed Litigation Attorney with civil litigation experience to support a large, nationally recognized law firm. The role focuses on taking and defending depositions for a complex construction matter, with an expected duration of 4–6 months on a full-time contract basis.

Responsibilities

Take and defend a high volume of depositions in a large-scale construction defect matter

Prepare for and conduct fully remote depositions independently, including review of case materials, prior discovery, and coordination with the litigation team

Work closely with the office's Managing Attorney and client teams to ensure consistent deposition strategy and execution across matters

Provide limited additional litigation support as needed (e.g., discovery follow-up, issue spotting, deposition summaries, or targeted research), with the understanding that depositions are the primary responsibility

Manage workload efficiently in a fully remote environment, maintaining professionalism, organization, and responsiveness throughout the engagement

Required

California-licensed litigation attorney with 3+ years of California civil litigation experience

Demonstrated experience taking and/or defending depositions; comfort running depositions independently is essential

Organized, professional, and comfortable working full-time on a high-volume, time-bound project

Available during West Coast business hours and comfortable working fully remotely

Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing

J.D. from an accredited law school

Construction defect or insurance defense experience is a plus, but not required

Open to attorneys at a range of experience levels - from mid-level litigators with solid deposition experience to more senior attorneys looking to stay active in litigation on a focused engagement
