Responsibilities

Support the research studies of the Principal Investigator (PI) in understanding the genetics of congenital disorders and developing new therapies to treat them
Involves both research in animal models and as well as patient samples, in the broad area of maternal-fetal precision medicine
Provide an excellent training opportunity for motivated individuals

Required

BA/BS in a related science and knowledge of, or experience with, the basic techniques or methods required by the position; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong administrative skills including adeptness in keeping high‑level tasks in perspective while managing all levels of activity
Lab bench skills including pipetting, tissue culture, sample processing
Excellent organization skills and ability perform administrative tasks
Microsoft Office skills
Interest in biology and ability to read and understand scientific concepts
Excellent Interpersonal skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Meticulous, organized
In addition to the above, one or more years of recent, directly related work experience following degree completion, utilizing the techniques or methods required by the position; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

Prior experience in processing of tissues / biobanking
Interest in working with animal models including mice
Three years' training and experience in a research laboratory setting; demonstrated knowledge and/or experience working with animal population
Three years' experience with and the ability to care for, work with, and handle small animals
Prior experience in developing working protocols and preparing IRB documents and reports
Two years' experience of purchasing making decisions, processing orders and maintaining laboratory equipment
