Responsibilities

Design and analyze complex optical systems, including error budgeting and operational data analysis
Architect optical payloads to meet mission-level requirements
Lead cross-discipline teams to deliver cutting-edge subsystems and payloads
Support cross-enterprise communication and collaboration to provide best practices and institutional knowledge to all pursuits
Establish, develop, and maintain solid relationships with Engineering peers, internal stakeholders, and external customers
Provide technical leadership and direction by exhibiting behaviors that would include a unifying vision, understanding the diverse needs of our SBUs, and acting with humility and a collaborative spirit
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment
Perform other duties as necessary

Required

BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 10 or more years related experience
Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education
Experience with design, alignment, and optical performance analysis of complex optical systems, including segmented apertures and associated wavefront sensing and control systems
Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and executive stakeholders

Preferred

Master's degree or PhD in Optical Engineering
A current TS/SCI clearance (highly preferred)
Experience shaping and winning strategic CRADs
Leadership experience with technical teams across multiple organizations
Experience leading root cause analysis and anomaly resolution teams
Established relationships with government organizations, such as - Department of War and NASA
