Post Doctoral Fellow - Forestry and Environmental Conservation
Clemson University is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated postdoc to join a dynamic and multi-disciplinary team. The role involves assessing the impacts of Hurricane Helene on fish and wildlife populations and their habitats, requiring data analysis, species distribution modeling, and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Accumulation, analysis and interpretation of pre-existing data to develop species distribution models intended to guide on-going assessment, monitoring, and restoration activities
Leveraging pre-existing datasets to quantify impacts of flooding, landslides, and blowdowns on amphibians, reptiles, molluscs, arthropods, birds, and mammals
Assist in design and implementation of surveys to fill in critical knowledge gaps required to guide recovery of focal species, resources, and ecosystems
Prepare and publish manuscripts in peer-refereed journals
Qualification
Required
A PhD in wildlife and fisheries, ecology, biology, or equivalent
Proficiency in species distribution modeling
Lead authorship on at least two peer-reviewed publications in ecological or natural resource management journals
Must possess a valid US driver's license
Preferred
Communicating and working with state and federal agencies, NGOs, and private landowners
Experience/willingness to work in remote areas under adverse conditions
Managing/organizing large databases
Proficiency in Program R (proficiency in Program MARK desired)
Population modeling experience (occupancy, abundance, apparent survival)
