Responsibilities

Daily Management and Optimization of the clinical content, including Laboratory and Radiology order databases, across the enterprise Electronic Health Record’s various vendors and versions
Collaborates with SR Clinical Analyst judgement to determine best practices and workflows in the customization, implementation and optimization of laboratory/radiology interfaces and device integrations
Implementation activities for functionality deployments such as vendor system enhancements and upgrades
Collaborate with multiple departments on the facilitation and implementation of interfaces and integrations. This includes gathering requirements, configuration needs, customization, testing, maintenance, and post-implementation optimization
Uses technical knowledge to bridge the gap between clinical/non-technical users and technical to resolve issues
Work in partnership with a variety of group members, both functional and technical, across HCA and other organizations to define requirements, resolve issues, and meet deadlines
Collaborate with business representatives at all levels of the organization and across the enterprise, consistently delivering high-quality services while working on multiple complex projects/engagements
Facilitate the definition and analysis of business needs and requirements for a transformed business, new and/or enhanced products, services, or optimized business processes
Understand new clinical LIS/RIS and device integration requests and how the vendor products support, enhance, and facilitate the current need in clinical workflows
Pursue and develop a solid understanding of the design architecture, data flow, and functionality of the vendor product
Use technical knowledge to gather and document requirements as well as design, write, and implement test plans for new implementations and product upgrades
Work hands on with cross-functional teams, to validate and perform gap analysis between new functionality and business needs
Maintain the clinical content of the integration throughout the life-cycle of the vendor relationship
Provide clinical application analysis, build, and validation of processes as needed
Maintain a deep knowledge level of all custom-built integration technology
Understand HL7 language versions (2.3, 2.5, FHIR) and participate in troubleshooting any issues with the EHR and integrations using tools such as smart HL7 or HL7 spy
Understand data analytic tools and documentation methods
Utilize SQL and SQL database knowledge to develop queries for data and be able to validate if the query was successful in pulling the correct data
Utilize knowledge of standard nomenclature to map specific tests or exams to the appropriate code
Research updates to MACRA/MIPS value sets and include those updates within the EMR to the tests or exams used within those measures
Coordinate communication and training to the field and product teams around the enterprise for new integrations
Triage issues occurring in the implementation process; provide ongoing consultation by analyzing issues, aligning resources, and facilitating resolutions
Learn, understand, and identify problems and recognize core issues within the Electronic Health Record and vendor integration
Coordinates with other clinical teams to establish and support processes necessary to ensure data integrity within and across multiple EHRs and other clinical information systems or applications
Maintain ongoing positive relationships with vendor and internal teams
Trains analysts through on the job training and orients new employees on departmental process and enterprise standards
Ability to plan and coordinate activities, manage priorities, personal, and employee time effectively, distribute workloads, and delegate responsibility and authority without loss of supervisory control
Thinks and acts independently, starts new assignments and opportunities without prompting, contributes ideas and projects, and promptly addresses problems
Works with minimal supervision to lead various projects (both large and small scale) in defining, documenting, pilot, and deployment of integration solutions
Provide subject matter expertise in integration certification and deployment activities for the enterprise across a wide range of integration types

Required

3+ years' experience in health information systems
3+ years' clinical healthcare experience
2+ years' experience in developing a broad set of technical skills in HL7, Secure File Transfer, API, FHIR, SQL, or other integration systems
2+ years' experience preferred with government programs and standard nomenclature such as CPT, LOINC, SNOMED, CMS Value Sets, MACRA, MIPS
Medical Technician
BS degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent
Valid Medical Technologist National Certification and State License
Equivalent Work Experience equals degree (Bachelors Preferred)
Radiology Technologist
BS degree in Radiologic Technology or a related medical field, or equivalent
Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and State License
Equivalent Work Experience equals degree (Bachelors Preferred)

Preferred

Preferred experience with eClinicalworks and/or Meditech Expanse
Informatics Certification (Preferred)
