Testing Center Coordinator

Responsibilities
Coordinate and schedule accommodated testing appointments in collaboration with students, instructors, and SASS staff
Ensure all accommodations listed in students’ letters of accommodation are accurately applied during exams
Serve as the primary liaison between faculty and students regarding exam logistics, timelines, and expectations
Maintain secure storage and handling of all exam materials, including receipt, preparation, and return of exams
Administer in-person and online exams in compliance with instructor requirements and EWU policies
Prepare exam packets, verify student identification, and maintain testing integrity
Troubleshoot exam-related issues and respond to emergent concerns during testing sessions
Maintain a secure, quiet, and distraction-reduced testing environment
Monitor and manage inventory of testing supplies, assistive technology, and equipment
Coordinate with EWU IT and SASS technology staff to support technology access and functionality
Track and report testing center usage data, trends, and outcomes for assessment and improvement
Assist with customer service in the SASS main office including welcoming staff, students, and other visitors, and answering and directing phone calls
Provide administrative support to the main office, including triaging correspondence (e-mail, phone and other outreach), maintaining schedules, organizing files, and supporting front desk operations
Respond to in-person, telephone, and email inquiries regarding the program, departmental procedures and services and provide accurate and up-to-date information; refer non-routine questions and inquiries to appropriate staff within department
Assist with AIM database (student accommodation database) review and data entry, as appropriate
Provide backup support for Operations Manager during high-traffic times and breaks
Hire, train, supervise and direct work of part-time student and/or professional proctors
Build and manage testing schedules for part-time proctors and assist SASS staff with proctor coverage as needed
Provide guidance and support to proctors regarding testing protocols and student needs
Serve as primary contact for any academic integrity concerns arising during proctored exams
Maintain compliance with all relevant federal, state, and institutional policies, including FERPA, ADA, and university academic integrity policies
Participate in professional development and university trainings relevant to the role
Represent the program and serve on committees or working groups and attend meeting, as appropriate, to support division goals
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission of SASS and Student Affairs
Qualification
Required
High school diploma, GED, or a combination of education and experience
Minimum of five (5) years of professional work experience including experience working in a testing center (or related facility), proctoring exams, performing front office reception, and supervising staff
Demonstrated ability to manage communication across multiple stakeholders simultaneously
Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail and experience managing concurrent tasks or projects
Proven experience supporting individuals in high-stress or emotionally elevated situations
Demonstrated ability to apply a responsive and flexible approach that is supportive of the needs including universal access of our students, faculty, staff and the public
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Disability Studies, or a related field
Experience developing complex group schedules or coordinating multiple calendars
Familiarity with standardized assessments or exam accommodations
Proficiency with Accessible Information Management (AIM) or similar accommodation management software
Experience working with students with mental health, learning, attentional, or chronic health conditions
Prior experience in higher education or disability services/ADA
