Responsibilities
Architect and support large-scale, multi-region data centre migrations to Microsoft Azure
Assess legacy on-prem applications and define rehost, refactor, re-platform, or retire strategies
Design hybrid and transitional architectures supporting phased migrations
Ensure scalability, resiliency, performance, and disaster recovery across global environments
Design modern application architectures using .NET and ASP.NET Core
Define API-first integration patterns using REST and JSON
Establish standards for application layering, service boundaries, and deployment models
Produce solution architecture diagrams, decision records, and migration blueprints
Develop end-to-end solutions across infrastructure, data, application, and security architecture layers
Actively contribute code in C# / .NET for APIs, services, and integration layers
Build and review API implementations using ASP.NET Core
Support modernisation of legacy .NET Framework applications
Perform code and architecture reviews and guide teams on best practices and performance optimisation
Design Integration architecture options between tools like APIM, Mulesoft
Design, govern, and scale APIs using Azure API Management
Define secure integration patterns for internal and external consumers
Support legacy-to-modern integration during migration phases
Ensure versioning, lifecycle management, and API governance
Design solutions leveraging Azure App Service, Azure Functions, and related Azure services
Architect authentication and authorisation using Microsoft Entra ID
Apply enterprise security, compliance, and identity standards by design
Ensure observability and diagnostics via Application Insights
Think beyond the immediate solution to long-term platform sustainability and cost efficiency
Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, and Product teams
Translate business and migration objectives into executable technical roadmaps
Identify risks early and drive pragmatic architectural decisions
Qualification
Required
Financial Services Experience is essential
8+ years in application development or architecture roles
Proven experience supporting large-scale data centre or cloud migration programs
Prior ownership of solution architecture decisions in enterprise environments
.NET and C#
ASP.NET Core and API design
Legacy .NET Framework modernisation
Azure infrastructure and application services
API architecture and integration patterns
SQL-based data platforms
