The Lead Engineer will be a key member of the Engineering Team, responsible for managing manufacturing processes of 3D woven composite engine components and guiding a team of Manufacturing Engineers to improve efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities

Manage the daily activities of the team of Manufacturing Engineers
Build, manage and enact a skills management and training program for the Process Engineers
Customer interface and technical coordination; regularly communicate with all levels in the customer organization to manage technical definition, work scope, progress status and schedule
Interface with Quality, Production and Product teams and their management to ensure coordination of all Projects lead by Manufacturing Engineers
Review project plans and proposals while working with management to develop project objectives
Ensure On Time Delivery of Project lead by self or the Process Engineers in charge
Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and identifying key resources
Accountable for decisions related to all program topics (development, manufacturing, business) and makes certain they are implemented to meet program objectives (flight safety, customer satisfaction, schedule, quality, and profitability)
Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality standards
Participate in the development of program financial plans in support of the budget
Lead and support process improvement and cost reduction projects

Required

Bachelor degree in science, engineering or engineering technology field
5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience required, with 2+ years of cross-functional assignments in the areas of production, quality, program management or finance
Strong ability to lead cross-functional teams
Strong competency in managing customer interactions and presenting to management
Advanced Level Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Microsoft Project or other Project Management software
Experience with lean manufacturing and/or 6 Sigma techniques required

Preferred

Project Management Professional or Green Belt certification preferred
Experience with composite materials is preferred
