Responsibilities

Assessing the applicant's knowledge of the procedures and techniques used in the installation, configuration, support troubleshooting and repair of applicable operating systems, server and storage related equipment, software applications, other IT hardware and peripherals
Evaluating customers' needs and requirements and identifying possible business solutions
Managing or coordinating the data processing operations for a department or organization

Required

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree, including 15 semester (25 quarter) units in computer science or management information systems AND one (1) year of paid experience in a complex IT environment utilizing principles and techniques which include system support, troubleshooting and resolution of network problems, managing or coordinating the data processing operations for a department or organization
Completion of (60) semester (90) quarter units from an accredited college or university with course work in computer science or management information systems AND three (3) years of paid experience, one (1) of which must have been in a complex IT environment utilizing principles and techniques which include system support, troubleshooting and resolution of network problems, managing or coordinating the data processing operations for a department or organization
Completion of an accredited trade or vocational school training program in computer repair, computer science or information systems AND three (3) years paid experience, one (1) of which must have been in a complex IT environment utilizing principles and techniques which include system support, troubleshooting and resolution of network problems, managing or coordinating the data processing operations for a department or organization
Two (2) years of experience as a Technical Support Specialist III in the Kern County classification systems
Five (5) years of experience, three (3) of which must have been in a complex IT environment utilizing principles and techniques which include system support, troubleshooting and resolution of network problems, managing or coordinating the data processing operations for a department or organization
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree, including 15 semester (25 quarter) units in computer science or management information systems AND two (2) years of paid experience, one (1) of which must have been paid experience in a complex IT environment utilizing principles and techniques which include system support, troubleshooting and resolution of network problems, managing or coordinating the data processing operations for a department or organization

Two (2) years of experience as a Technical Support Engineer I in the Kern County classification systems
Six (6) years of experience, four (4) of which must have been in a complex IT environment utilizing principles and techniques which include system support, troubleshooting and resolution of network problems, managing or coordinating the data processing operations for a department or organization
