They are seeking a Technical Writer Intern to help capture and organize critical knowledge within the product development organization by transforming complex technical concepts into clear documentation.
Information Services
Responsibilities
Collaborate with engineers, product manager, and other team members to gather information through interviews and working sessions
Review existing technical documents and reports to understand current practices, terminology, and content expectations
Draft, edit, and organize documentation for product package (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint), ensuring clarity, accuracy, and ease of navigation
Harmonize inputs from multiple contributors into a consistent voice, structure, and level of technical detail
Develop and maintain reusable templates for reports and documentation based on best practices
Update and maintain documentation as processes evolve, incorporating feedback from stakeholders
Identify gaps in documentation and propose improvements to knowledge organization and accessibility
Qualification
Required
Enrolled in a university throughout the internship
Able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable
Pursuing a degree in technical or professional writing, communications, information management, or an engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, software, or systems) with a demonstrated interest in technical documentation and knowledge organization
Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working with technical subject matter and collaborating across teams
Preferred
Familiarity with energy industry regulations, standards, and protocols
Experience with agile development methodologies and modern software engineering practices
