CPMT Leader- Design & Release Engineer
Ford Motor Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Component Program Module Team Leader / Design and Release Engineer to join their innovative engine development team on the V6 Cyclone Engine program. The role involves leading product development for engine subsystems, designing and releasing components, and resolving design and manufacturing issues.

Responsibilities
Lead new/forward model product development of the base engine sub system for new engine platforms
Design, develop, and release components
Lead/Support resolution of major design, manufacturing, program, and launch issues as they arise
Create, complete, and approve supplier and Ford engine DVPs and oversee testing in support of robust validation
Lead Sub System CPMT activities
Support all program meetings (EPMT, Design Review, DPMT, change control, etc.)
Lead drawing release and changes
Interface with Calibration, mating components, Purchasing, suppliers, and mfg./assembly plants
Prototype Build coordination: load forward model part numbers into system and ensure fit and function
Work directly with suppliers, Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), and launch teams to support programs and resolve quality issues, including travel both domestic and international when required
WERS (Worldwide engineering release system) coordination; alerts, Concerns and SREA processing
Develop and maintain CPMT documents, including appropriate quality documents (ESOW, DFMEA, FEDE, e3P, SCCAF’s, Global Integrator, OPTEX, PPAP & PSW’s, 543 Chart etc.) for program specific sub-system responsibilities
Create, complete, and approve supplier and internal DV/PV test plans and oversee testing in support of robust validation
Lead/Support warranty reduction and issue resolution using a structured 8D documented approach
Lead/Support TVM cost reduction idea generation and implementation
Lead/Support change control activities
Travel as necessary to Ford Assembly Plants/Facilities and Suppler/Sub-Supplier sites for issue resolution and build support
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related degree, or a combination of equivalent experience and education
Component and System/Subsystem D&R Experience; Internal combustion engine experience preferred
Ability to work effectively and lead in a team environment
Experience with Ford internal PD systems (GPDS, FEDE, WERS, AIMS, SREA, Teamcenter, 3DX, Etc.) and MS Office Applications
Knowledge of FMEA's, Control Plans, and DV/PV Plans
Knowledge of GD&T and Dimensional Control (SPC, Statistics, Etc.)
Basic knowledge of NVH, Materials, Durability, and Manufacturing (Stamping, Bending, Welding) processes
Strong Interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills and background
Preferred
Technical expertise/experience with Gasoline internal combustion engines, specifically base engine design and release
Green Belt certification (or black belt)
Base engine testing
1D & 3D simulation methodologies – Both and Static and Dynamic
Base engine Sub-system design & development
NVH
Design for manufacture
Knowledge of Ford Motor Company's Global Product Development System and design release process
Effective oral and written communicator that can influence, motivate, negotiate, and collaborate internally and externally
