SoTalent is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable backend systems for customer-facing applications. The ideal candidate will lead the architecture and implementation of backend systems and APIs while mentoring junior developers and optimizing software delivery processes.

Responsibilities

Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of backend systems and APIs
Collaborate with product owners, designers, and engineers to identify and implement optimal solutions
Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, middleware, and cloud-based services
Ensure code quality through testing, automation, and adherence to best practices
Mentor junior developers and support professional growth of the engineering team
Assist with interviewing, hiring, and building out the technical team
Suggest and implement process improvements to optimize software delivery
Become a subject matter expert for backend systems and integrations

Qualification

Required

B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related discipline
5+ years of experience in backend development using Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, RESTful APIs, and related frameworks
5+ years building internet-facing applications
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerized environments
Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming, databases, software engineering principles, and parallel programming
Experience integrating APIs with frontend or mobile frameworks
Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred

Experience in financial services, particularly credit card or payments applications
Native coding experience for iOS, Android, or Web applications
Experience deploying applications in Kubernetes environments
Familiarity with Agile and SCRUM methodologies
