Pierce County is seeking a Legal Processing Supervisor to lead a team of clerks responsible for data input, customer service, and processing court filings. Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate activities of legal clerical workers. Determine work schedules and determine methods of expediting workflow. Issue instructions and oversee work for exactness, neatness and conformance to procedures and policies of subordinate staff through routine audits
Work with the SCOMIS and LINX Computer Systems. Train employees, develop and maintain records and reporting systems per county, state, and federal guidelines, providing for proper quality control
Oversee the preparation of legal papers and correspondence of legal nature, such as Letters of Testamentary, Letters of Administration, Form K’s, appeals, public information requests, etc
Participate in and support development, measurement and execution of the mission, goals, and objectives of the County, department, division, and individual work groups
Update department regulations to reflect policy changes made by Clerk or designee. Responsible for maintaining a manual of policies and regulations as it relates to each division concerning organization and administrative best practices
Analyze operating procedures to devise most efficient methods of accomplishing work. Analyze data gathered, develop information, and consider all available solutions. Recommend implementation of new systems, oversee implementation and train personnel in application

Required

AA degree in business or public administration, legal studies, or related field, and
Four years of progressive, responsible legal support work, including
Two years in a supervisory/lead capacity
Additional education or experience may substitute equally for the position requirements
As a condition of employment, the applicant will need to authorize and complete a background check
