3+ years expSchwan's is a growing company with popular retail brands such as Red Baron® and Mrs. Smith's®. They are seeking a Refrigeration Mechanic III to conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on refrigeration systems, troubleshoot complex equipment issues, and manage parts inventory.

Responsibilities
Conduct daily inspections and perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration systems including air conditioners, compressors, evaporators, boilers, and REM evaporative coils to ensure optimal functionality and safety compliance
Troubleshoot and repair complex refrigeration equipment issues such as ammonia compressors, CO2 and freezer temperature monitors, and electrical components including I/O modules, ensuring minimal downtime
Manage refrigeration parts inventory, order necessary components, and maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed
Lead setup, teardown, fabrication, and installation of plant equipment, supporting major repairs and construction projects related to stationary machinery and building infrastructure
Adhere to strict safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space, Respiratory Protection, and Fall Protection, and actively participate in Hazmat training and emergency response teams
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
3+ years of related refrigeration maintenance experience with advanced electrical and mechanical skills
Ability to safely don and operate air-purifying respirators (APR) and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
Must be able to obtain forklift and boiler licenses as required for job functions
Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and be committed to following all company and OSHA safety policies and procedures
Preferred
two-year degree in a specialized maintenance trade
strongly preferred in an ammonia refrigeration environment
HAZMAT certification preferred
