Stony Brook University is seeking applications for a full-time tenure-track or tenured faculty appointment at the rank of assistant or associate professor with neuroscience/neurobiology research expertise. The successful applicant will contribute to the teaching of basic science courses and participate in service at various levels while conducting research in dental medicine and related fields.

Contribute to the teaching of basic science courses in the dental curriculum and in the graduate program

Participate in service at the college, university and/or national levels, as appropriate for their academic rank

Qualification

PhD in neurosciencePostdoctoral trainingActive NIH fundingTeaching experienceMentoring experienceCultural diversityInterpersonal skillsCommunication skillsCollaboration

Required

PhD degree (or foreign equivalent) in neuroscience or a related field

Postdoctoral training in neuroscience

Active NIH funding (e.g. R01, R21, K99/R00, etc.)

Teaching experience, within the last five years, of professional or graduate students

Mentoring experience, within the last five years, of professional or graduate students

Preferred

DDS/DMD degree (or foreign equivalent) from a CODA-accredited dental school or college

Teaching experience at a dental and/or medical school

A record of research and/or scholarship
