The American Fifth Estate is a growing organization focused on empowering citizen-led change through community-driven ballot measures. They are seeking dedicated volunteers for multiple roles to assist in drafting initiatives, conducting research, and engaging the community to support the democratic process.

Non-profit Organization Management

Responsibilities

Assist in drafting and refining citizen-led ballot initiatives

Conduct legal and policy research to support measure development

Work with community members to ensure clarity and impact

Develop and execute social media strategies to engage and grow our community

Create content that educates and mobilizes supporters around ballot measures

Manage our presence on Reddit, Bluesky, Instagram, and other platforms

Moderating structured online forums to keep discussion clear, respectful, and on-topic

Helping translate ballot measures and initiative rules into plain language

Supporting structured online discussions and forum moderation

Reviewing public-facing explanations for clarity and neutrality

Assisting with nonpartisan civic learning materials about the ballot process
