Responsibilities
Serve as a primary, trusted point of contact for clients throughout the life of their case
Listen carefully to client concerns, questions, and goals, and communicate those effectively to the legal team
Explain, in plain language, what is happening in the legal process, what comes next, and what the client can realistically expect
Help clients prepare for key milestones (intake, interviews, depositions, mediations, trial-related events)
Proactively identify client needs beyond legal representation and connect them with appropriate third-party resources (e.g., therapists, support groups, advocacy organizations, medical or social services)
Maintain a current directory of high-quality external resources and relationships with service providers who work with survivors
Coordinate closely with attorneys, paralegals, and staff to ensure client questions are answered promptly and consistently
Track and document client contacts, concerns, and referrals in the firm’s systems in a clear, organized manner
Monitor cases for points of stress or confusion and proactively reach out to clients with explanation, reassurance, and options
Help develop and refine written guides, FAQs, and educational materials for clients about how the firm works and available resources
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, victim services, or a related field — or equivalent relevant experience
Prior experience in victim advocacy, social services, counseling, client services, or similar work with trauma-impacted populations
Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and survivor-centered communication
Proficiency with standard office software and willingness to learn case-management tools
Preferred
Prior experience in a law firm, legal aid, or legal services setting is strongly preferred but not required
Bilingual (especially English/Spanish) is a strong plus
