Technical Sales Representative

MAKO Advanced Materials is seeking an early-career Technical Sales Person to support their portfolio of aerospace-grade adhesives and composite prepregs. This role involves blending technical application engineering with customer relationship management to act as a bridge between R&D and various customers in the aerospace and advanced manufacturing sectors.

Responsibilities

Serve as primary technical contact for assigned customer accounts
Assist customers with material selection, processing recommendations, cure cycles, and troubleshooting
Support product qualification, sample builds, and on-site trials
Prepare technical proposals, application notes, and product comparisons
Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across adhesives, prepregs, films, and infusion systems
Translate customer requirements into technical solutions with MakoBond / PTM&W product lines
Work closely with R&D on new formulations, performance improvements, and custom solutions
Support testing programs including lap shear, peel, DMA, DSC, Tg, out-time, and shelf-life studies
Maintain regular contact with accounts to ensure satisfaction and long-term retention
Track opportunities, sampling, and technical action items in CRM
Support forecasting, product launches, and customer onboarding
Develop relationships with composite shops, aerospace OEMs, tier-suppliers, UAS manufacturers, and R&D labs
Attend industry trade shows, customer audits, and technical review meetings

Required

Bachelor's degree in: Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Polymer Science, or related technical field or Business with significant coursework in similar subjects OR equivalent hands-on experience in composites / aerospace manufacturing
0–5 years experience in composites, adhesives, resins, or technical manufacturing
Strong technical communication skills – able to explain chemistry to engineers and machinists alike
Comfortable working in a customer-facing, fast-paced environment
Willingness to travel regionally (30–50%)
Skilled in communications, networking, developing relationships

Preferred

Experience with: Polymers, composites, epoxies, cyanate esters, BMI systems, film adhesives
Exposure to aerospace, defense, motorsports, or UAS markets
Any related technical sales experience
