Responsibilities

Conduct research in an area relevant to projects under the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Electricity Microgrid R&D program, e.g., projects related to phase unbalanced microgrid modeling, control and optimization of transmission and distribution networks under uncertainty, design of resilient networks, and/or analysis of interdependent networks

Required

Publication record in power systems/power engineering
Experience in electric power transmission, distribution, and/or microgrid modeling
Experience formulating and solving mathematical optimization problems
Programming experience in Julia, Python, or MATLAB
Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary scientific environment
Demonstrate excellent oral and written skills
A Ph.D. in electrical engineering or a related field within the past 5 years is required

Preferred

Experience with collaborative software development and related tools (e.g., git)
Experience in modeling power system control systems, esp. related to microgrids
Background in disciplines such as optimization and control theory
Ability to obtain a DOE Q and SCI security clearances, which generally requires U.S. citizenship
