Responsibilities
Must have demonstrated experience buying commodities and managing supplier relationships
Facilitate the purchase requisition process and issue purchase orders per company policy
Negotiate pricing, delivery dates, and PO terms and conditions
Manage physical inventory process: setup meetings, scheduling, inventory sheets, input coordination, and discrepancy analysis
Oversee day-to-day purchasing team operations: supplier interface, rush orders, onboarding, international processes, expediting, workflow, and personnel matters
Identify and lead supplier cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and service standards
Develop preferred supplier programs and conduct regular performance reviews
Support engineering and operations with new product testing and cost-reduction initiatives
Evaluate and implement Manufacturing Alerts and Engineering Change Notifications
Provide periodic supplier performance reports and monthly executive KPI dashboards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field
Minimum 7 years of experience in supply chain operations, ideally in an industrial or commercial manufacturing environment
Proven success in commodity purchasing, sourcing, and contract negotiation
Strong analytical and process-oriented mindset
Ability to drive measurable results in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
Preferred
APICS/ISM certifications highly preferred
Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred
Experience with ERP systems related to purchasing (Oracle ERP is preferred)
