Responsibilities
The incumbent will care for plants required for executing research experiments. This will involve tissue culture, planting, watering, and harvesting of seed
He/she will conduct research to manipulate nematode and plant genes to engineer novel forms of nematode resistance. The incumbent will handle and analyze genomic and/or transcriptomic datasets, transform plants, and use a variety of modern molecular and genetic approaches
He/she will collect data from experiments and analyze it directly and in collaboration with the PI
The incumbent is expected to summarize and regularly discuss research results in both written and oral format with the PI
The incumbent will supervise student workers that assist with research in the laboratory
Qualification
Required
Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field
Lab and research knowledge and skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven publication record
Preferred
Master's degree and some experience or equivalent combination of Bachelor's degree plus experience and skills
Doctorate's Degree
