Associate Director, Trade Associations and Think Tanks (Onsite)

Responsibilities

Serve as a relationship liaison with industry associations and relevant stakeholders
Maintain and develop relationships with key scholars and think tank/third-party organizations
Develop and implement a comprehensive external engagement strategy to achieve the company’s policy priorities in coordination with senior leadership
Partner with BUs to ensure message alignment and identify opportunities to work together
Identify new third-parties to partner with domestically and internationally where appropriate, creating new and innovative solutions to business problems
Participate in meetings/committees of major trade associations to represent RTX
Coordinate with GGR leaders and key cross-functional partners to drive strategies and plans with direct impact on short and long-term strategic goals
Assist the VP, Public Policy and International Government Relations with strategic planning including financial and resource planning in collaboration with key functional partners
Ensure compliance and evaluate reputational risk of engagement and partnership with external groups
Manage and negotiate sponsorship and conference opportunities in coordination with Communications
Detail oriented with a sense of urgency, strong work ethic, and positive attitude
Broad knowledge of industry trends in multiple work areas that affect RTX
Adaptability in tone and style of communications to suit different specialized and general audiences
Effectively interface with all levels of employees, leadership, and external organizations
Travel up to 20%

Required

Typically requires a University Degree and 12 years of relevant experience or an Advanced Degree and 10 years of relevant experience
Prior experience with/exposure to trade associations, think tanks, and third parties
Experience with/exposure to aerospace, defense, and national security issues

Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time and resources, organize, and prioritize work across multiple projects, and work within tight deadlines
Self-aware, entrepreneurial, highly motivated, technology and detail oriented, and driven by fast-paced, agile environments
