Responsibilities

Deliver a welcoming, professional patient experience through check-in, check-out, and ongoing front-desk support
Perform patient registration, demographic updates, and insurance verification, including referrals and pre-authorizations
Collect and document co-payments and balances; reconcile daily transactions and prepare deposits
Schedule, reschedule, and manage patient appointments in accordance with practice guidelines
Answer and route telephone calls, create system messages, and assist callers appropriately
Maintain accurate documentation, process medical records, and prepare materials for scanning in compliance with HIPAA
Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and staff while demonstrating cultural awareness and professionalism
Manage mail, faxes, and other administrative correspondence
Support physician schedules to ensure efficient patient flow
Provide interpreter services, when approved, to facilitate clear communication and culturally competent care
Follow all practice policies and procedures and actively participate in training and skill development
Assist with additional duties as needed and cross-train or float to other departments based on organizational needs

Required

High School Diploma or GED, required
Great interpersonal skills and able to work in a fast-paced environment a MUST
Medical terminology, keyboard, Microsoft office products, schedule systems, medical records (electronic and paper), billing, basic math, language, reading and writing, customer service

Preferred

At least 6 months in a medical office setting, preferred
