Senior Environmental Engineer
Infinitek Limited is a leading integrated copper production company, part of one of the world’s largest copper producers. The company is seeking a proactive and experienced Environmental Manager to supervise and mentor their Environmental Department, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting sustainable operations.
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor the Environmental Department, promoting compliance with EPA, state, local, and company environmental regulations
Oversee preparation, submission, and negotiation of environmental permits with regulators
Supervise field monitoring, data collection, and analysis to support compliance reporting and technical documentation
Develop, implement, and coordinate environmental compliance programs and initiatives
Prepare and manage expense and capital expenditure forecasts related to environmental projects
Supervise consultants, review invoices, and provide environmental oversight for other departments using contractors onsite
Conduct environmental compliance and EMS audits, and deliver annual environmental and DOT training
Serve as the primary liaison with regulators during inspections, permit negotiations, and subcommittee meetings
Monitor products, approve purchases, maintain MSDS files, and ensure all electronic environmental records are current
Oversee the Drinking Water System, including sampling, planning, and procurement of necessary supplies
Review plans, regulations, permits, and technical documents, including ESA and land management considerations
Prepare environmental and emergency response plans
Coordinate land use contracts, rights-of-way, and leases for operational properties
Enforce and support the company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety programs in line with corporate policy
Support management in forecasting and budgeting for capital and operational expenses
Mentor and guide Environmental Engineers
Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Environmental Manager
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field (Civil, Geology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences). Relevant experience may be considered
Minimum of 7 years of environmental experience, preferably in mining or chemical processing environments, with open pit mining experience essential
Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental laws, regulations, codes, and permits
Strong project management capabilities and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data analysis tools
Understanding of mining, milling, leaching, smelting processes, and open pit mining operations
Knowledge of land use regulations, permitting, and environmental sampling/monitoring techniques
Excellent technical writing and communication skills
Ability to define problems, analyze data, and draw accurate conclusions
Collaborative approach with the ability to solicit input from team members
Certifications and training in Clean Water Act, Waste Management, Air Quality, and general environmental compliance
EPA Method 9 certification, RCRA, and MSHA training (training to be completed after hire as required)
Fluency in English (CEFR B2 – Upper Intermediate or above)
