Responsibilities
Support and lead mechanical engineering efforts within the facility
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, evaluate, and improve mechanical systems and components
Support manufacturing and maintenance operations
Conduct root cause analysis
Drive continuous improvement initiatives
Contribute to capital project planning and execution
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering role, preferably in a manufacturing or product development setting
Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor)
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, materials science, and fluid dynamics
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and industry specifications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience leading mechanical design projects or mentoring junior engineers
Professional Engineering (PE) License or other relevant certifications
Familiarity with FMEA, DFMEA, Six Sigma, or lean manufacturing methodologies
Exposure to electromechanical systems or integration with electrical components
Proficiency in 3D modeling and simulation software (e.g., SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS, or similar)
Familiarity with MATLAB or Python for engineering calculations and automation
Use of project tracking tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira) for reporting and scheduling
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for BOM management and documentation control
CAM software knowledge (e.g., Mastercam) is a plus
High attention to detail and accuracy in all design and documentation work
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Excellent teamwork skills and a proactive communication style
Willingness to travel as required for project installations, testing, or supplier visits
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
