Operations Manager
Upway is a fast-growing, Sequoia-backed startup building the world's largest marketplace for refurbished e-bikes. They are seeking a data-driven leader to own the NYC UpCenter, leading a large-scale team and driving operational excellence while managing the P&L and performance of the flagship location.
Responsibilities
Lead a Large-Scale Team: Build and manage a diverse team of managers, operations coordinators, and bike mechanics. You will be responsible for hiring and growing this team 2X to meet our scaling needs
Own the P&L & Performance: Drive full accountability for the UpCenter’s operational flow and financial efficiency. You will define and hit daily, weekly, and monthly targets for repairs, uploads, and shipments
Drive Operational Strategy: Identify bottlenecks and design pragmatic, high-level solutions for complex fulfillment issues. You will manage a transition plan with Central Ops for our New Jersey warehouse expansion
Be the Culture Carrier: Set the standard for discipline, speed of execution, and positive momentum. You will ensure a collaborative environment where high performers thrive and low performance is addressed decisively
Qualification
Required
6+ years of experience in Operations, Warehouse/Site Management, or Large Team Management
Demonstrated ability to lead at scale and solve day-to-day challenges with high judgment and minimal process overhead
You show up with positivity and a relentless will to make things happen
You are comfortable in a fast-paced environment and ready to be fully accountable for a complex operational scope
