Responsibilities
Overall ownership of sales/accommodations taxes for multiple states & counties
Ensure compliance by maintaining business licenses up to date
Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper account allocation
Perform monthly reconciliations of all assigned balance sheet accounts including bank reconciliation and general banking functions
Demonstrate the ability to proactively identify problems by doing basic G/L research and generate solutions
Ensure all required deadlines are met
Assist with overall support and back up for the accounting team as well as supporting operations as needed
Qualification
Required
2-year college degree in accounting or related major and 3+ years of equivalent work experience
Must be well-rounded in accounts receivable
Must be proficient in Microsoft excel
Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Must be able to interact patiently, tactfully, and diplomatically with internal and external teams
Must be able to work independently on multiple tasks under minimal supervision, making appropriate progress towards deadlines
Makes sound judgments quickly and maintains the highest degree of confidentiality
Able to effectively handle complex issues, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
Preferred
Previous tax experience preferred
Knowledge of general ledger and month end financial period close a plus
Previous experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, etc
