Staff Quality Engineer

Responsibilities
Lead or independently support the implementation of quality programs for attractions, transportation systems, entertainment venues, and facilities
Drive continuous improvement through the development, revision, and rollout of standards, processes, and quality programs for attractions, entertainment, and facilities including, but not limited to, collaborating with stakeholders, documenting statutory requirements, and identifying opportunities for improvement
Develop and enhance facilities quality programs in collaboration with stakeholders, documenting statutory requirements and identifying opportunities for improvement
Mentor engineers and cross-functional partners to promote best practices and elevate organizational quality performance
Apply in-depth knowledge of themed entertainment, amusement ride, and safety standards to resolve complex technical challenges, including those beyond established regulations
Build and maintain strong working relationships with Project Teams, Operations, Engineering Services, Safety, regulatory agencies, and other key stakeholders
Support the preparation, commissioning, and handover of new or refurbished attractions, shows, facilities, and transportation systems by ensuring robust processes, procedures, and documentation are in place to deliver safe and sustainable Guest and Cast experiences
Perform inspections, audits, and assessments for assigned attractions, entertainment venues, transportation systems, and facilities
Lead and manage investigations, including evaluation, documentation, and closeout, in response to incidents or ad-hoc requests
Provide general Engineering support to internal partners, such as Quality Assurance, Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and others as required
Assist with the completion of all necessary documentation, including but not limited to drawings, procedures, training, and certification to permit and ensure the safe use of the system by Cast and Guests
Qualification
Required
Minimum of seven (7) years of engineering experience with progressively increasing responsibility
Experience managing large-scale technical projects
Strong understanding of industry regulatory, compliance, and quality standards
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and prioritize effectively
Experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of complex attraction and/or facility safety systems in regulated environments
Proven experience conducting investigations, root cause analysis, hazard assessments, and hazard analysis
Proficiency with document management systems and engineering tools such as AutoCAD, MS Office, Maximo, or similar platforms
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing competing priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely across varying disciplines and professional levels
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to provide clear direction to Cast Members and contractors
Flexibility to work after hours or off-shift as operational needs require
Preferred
Experience within the amusement park or themed entertainment industry
California or Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license
California Qualified Safety Inspector (QSI) certification
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
Strong background in FOS and Operations tasks and utilization of common theme park facilities (i.e. registered attractions, quick service kitchens, playgrounds, etc.)
Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Management
