Growth-Focused Business Development Manager

VLinc Corporation is seeking a Business Development Manager who will handle a diverse range of tasks including sales, marketing, strategic planning, and customer relationship management. The BDM will drive growth by identifying opportunities, building relationships, and managing proposals to secure government contracts.

Responsibilities

Identify, pursue, and secure government contracts
Expand the company's presence in the government and commercial sectors by fostering relationships with customers and prime contractors
Actively monitor government procurement opportunities, including requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotes (RFQs), and other solicitations
Analyze market trends, agency priorities, and procurement forecasts to identify potential business opportunities
Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including government and commercial buyers, prime contractors, and industry partners
Establish rapport to position the company favorably for contract awards
Collaborate closely with the leadership team to manage proposal teams and develop winning proposals
Provide strategic input, assist in solution development, and ensure proposals align with client requirements and agency objectives
Conduct thorough market research and analysis
Gather intelligence on competitors, industry trends, and emerging technologies to inform business strategies and identify areas for growth
Play a key role in developing and implementing business development strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives
Work with the leadership team to create comprehensive plans to penetrate new markets, expand service offerings, and achieve revenue targets
Negotiate contract terms and conditions
Work closely with the leadership team to ensure favorable contract terms while mitigating risks for the company
Adhere to strict compliance and ethical standards in all business development activities
Ensure that proposals and contract negotiations comply with regulatory requirements and company policies
Track and analyze business development metrics, such as win rates, pipeline growth, and revenue forecasts
Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management to assess business performance and make informed decisions

Required

Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field
At least 5 to 7 years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role within the government contracting sector
Experience in managing and developing proposals for government contracts, including familiarity with Requests for Proposals (RFP), Request for Quotations (RFQ), and other solicitation processes
Demonstrated ability to conduct market research and analysis to identify business opportunities and inform strategies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, partners, and team members
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with government and commercial clients, prime contractors, and industry partners
Ability to develop and implement business development strategies aligned with company goals
High level of adaptability to pivot strategies quickly in response to changing market conditions
Strong analytical skills to gather intelligence on competitors, industry trends, and emerging technologies
Proficiency in developing and managing winning proposals that align with client requirements and agency objectives
Ability to negotiate favorable contract terms while mitigating risks for the company
Experience in managing contract terms and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and ensuring compliance in all business development activities
Experience in leading teams or managing projects
Ability to work independently when necessary to complete tasks on time
Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
Skilled collaborator capable of brainstorming and collaborating with company colleagues and business development teams virtually and in person to build market development strategies and proposal responses
Familiarity with CRM software and other business development tools

An MBA or other relevant advanced degree can be advantageous but is not always required
