Sr. Technician - Engine Sign-Off

They are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Technician for Engine Sign-Off, responsible for performing engine sign-off processes, conducting technical reviews, and ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities
Perform engine sign-off process on each engine supplied for competition and testing
Perform detailed technical reviews of race engine builds to verify compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards
Approve or reject engine builds based on thorough inspection and testing results
Collaborate with Assembly Supervisors or Technicians and Engineering teams to resolve build issues and implement continuous improvements
Review and update engine build documentation and sign-off procedures
Provide technical guidance and training to assembly personnel on compliance and quality expectations
Ensure all engine builds meet safety, performance, and reliability requirements before release to the post dyno department
Maintain accurate records of engine sign-off activities and communicate status to relevant stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Minimum High School Diploma or GED
Minimum five years' experience of racing engine environment
Minimum two years in race engine development, assembly, or technical quality assurance
Strong understanding of internal combustion engine design, race engine build processes, and performance requirements
Experience with technical documentation, quality control, data analysis and engineering sign-off procedures
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
Ability to interpret and apply engineering specifications and technical drawings
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with all departments
Proficient in problem-solving and root cause analysis
Ability to train and mentor assembly technicians on technical standards and quality expectations
Proficient with relevant software tools for documentation and reporting; Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, and moving parts
Capability to stand, walk, and inspect engines and components for extended periods
Ability to lift and manage engine components
Occasional travel may be required to support race events, supplier visits, or off-site engineering meetings
Preferred
Familiarity with Toyota Racing Development and motorsports industry best practices is a plus
