Electrical Engineer

EVONA is seeking an Electrical Engineer to take ownership of the electrical design and verification of space-based sensing payloads. This role involves ensuring reliable power, data, and avionics integration from concept through flight readiness, while leading electrical testing efforts and supporting system-level trades.

Responsibilities

Architect and implement payload-level electrical systems, including power distribution, avionics connectivity, and data interfaces
Establish and manage electrical interfaces between payload hardware and the spacecraft platform
Plan and execute electrical integration and verification activities across all test phases, including environmental testing
Work cross-functionally with mechanical, RF, software, and systems teams to resolve design challenges and ensure end-to-end compatibility
Support engineering trade studies involving power, thermal margins, and pointing or stability constraints
Diagnose and resolve electrical issues during build, integration, and test campaigns
Produce clear technical artifacts such as schematics, interface definitions, and design reviews

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
Significant experience (7+ years) designing and integrating electrical systems for spacecraft or similarly complex platforms
Hands-on expertise with spacecraft power architectures, avionics interfaces, and harness design
Experience supporting system integration, verification, and environmental test programs
Working knowledge of how electrical design decisions affect system performance and operational constraints
Prior ownership of interface documentation and hardware-to-platform integration
US citizen & eligibility to obtain a U.S. security clearance

Preferred

Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Experience supporting imaging, sensing, or intelligence-focused payloads
Background in embedded electronics, FPGA-based systems, or custom avionics hardware
Familiarity with test automation, design-for-test strategies, or production-oriented design
Experience contributing to system architecture trades or scaling hardware designs for production
