Responsibilities
Own the mechanical design lifecycle for power generation assemblies, from early concept through validation and deployment
Drive technical execution of engineering initiatives, ensuring designs meet performance, quality, and delivery expectations
Apply core mechanical engineering fundamentals to address manufacturing, reliability, and integration challenges
Identify, evaluate, and select components and sub-systems for new equipment builds, balancing cost, availability, and technical fit
Partner with engineering, operations, and procurement teams to support equipment upgrades, redesigns, and new product releases
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with external suppliers and technical partners
Evaluate system performance and recommend improvements related to efficiency, durability, and lifecycle cost
Stay informed on applicable industry codes, standards, and emerging technologies
Provide technical guidance and informal mentorship to less experienced engineers, supporting knowledge transfer and best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
Approximately 10+ years of professional engineering experience, including direct involvement in turbine or rotating equipment systems
Proven background in mechanical design, build support, testing, and root-cause troubleshooting of power generation equipment
Working knowledge of supplier engagement, component sourcing, and engineering-to-manufacturing interfaces
Comfortable operating in a growth-oriented environment with evolving processes and priorities
