Foster Hughes is building a technical team in Los Angeles for a new project in Battery Technology. The Lead Mechanical Engineer will have complete technical autonomy and will be responsible for appointing and leading a mechanical team to support the company's growth trajectory.

Responsibilities

You will be the technical lead for the team, initially appointing 2-3 engineers to work in the mechanical team to support you
Beyond this, the team will grow to 5+ over the next 18-24 months
Designing rugged, thermally and structurally optimized enclosures for high-voltage or embedded systems
CAD modelling
Battery pack or BMS
Use of CFD and FEA simulation tools (Star-CMM+, Abaqus, Ansys etc)
Compliance experience such as vibration, shock, sealing and thermal
Experienced collaborating with other engineering disciplines
Thermal management systems
Programming and scripting such as Python, C/C++, MATLAB etc
Systems and requirements management such as BOM creation, PLM systems, DOORS, Jama, validation documentations, test plans and release workflows

Required
