Responsibilities

Design, develop, and enhance web-based GIS and mapping applications using modern geospatial technologies

Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective geospatial software designs

Build interactive web maps and spatial analysis features using industry-standard APIs and frameworks

Manage, manipulate, and analyze complex geospatial datasets, projections, and coordinate systems

Utilize ESRI ArcGIS and cloud-based GIS platforms for enterprise mapping solutions

Automate geospatial workflows and customize GIS tools using scripting and programming languages

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database design, data integrity, and performance standards are met

Apply secure coding practices, SDLC standards, and DevSecOps methodologies throughout the development lifecycle

Support Agile development processes and participate in design reviews and technical discussions

Required

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Sensitive Clearance

Advanced proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS for enterprise and web-based geospatial applications

Strong understanding of GIS principles, spatial data formats, projections, and cartographic concepts

Hands-on experience with web mapping technologies and APIs (ESRI Maps API, Leaflet, OpenLayers)

Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Python (automation, scripting, spatial analysis), JavaScript (web mapping and front-end integration), Java and/or C# (enterprise application development)

Experience with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js

Minimum 2+ years experience with Agile methodologies

Minimum 2+ years experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Minimum 2+ years experience with DevSecOps tools and practices (Docker, Jenkins, GitLab)

Minimum 2+ years experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools

Familiarity with change management and configuration management processes

8–12 years of relevant GIS and software development experience

Bachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

If degree is not in a related field, 4 additional years of relevant experience required

Proven ability to work independently and perform senior-level functional duties
