Insurance Vice President
McCarthy Holdings, Inc. is the holding entity for McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., a leading construction company in America. They are seeking a Risk Management Insurance Vice President to lead a team focused on day-to-day insurance operations, including insurance placements and risk financing tools, while collaborating with various stakeholders to support the enterprise.
Responsibilities
Leadership, Management and Development of three to four direct reports
Trade Partner Insurance Management, supporting the team responsible for the day-to-day administration of working with contract managers and project managers / administrators in the identification of appropriate insurance requirements of Trade Partners on our projects and securing, reviewing, getting compliance of same before Trade Partners step on McCarthy’s projects
Contractual Controlled Insurance Program oversight, partnering with our Risk Finance Director, Insurance Director, CIP Administrator, Risk Managers, and Project partners to ensure the successful identification, implementation, management and closeout of CIPs on McCarthy projects
RMIS (Origami) oversight, supporting our RMIS efforts to ensure the ongoing advancement of the platform in meeting our Enterprise and various Department needs
Oversight and leadership of all things Risk Finance, i.e., cost of risk rate development, contractor default insurance program administration, CCIP pro-formas, Trade Partner pre-qualification / financial review, and other alternative risk financing tools
Partnering with our Artificial Intelligence team and Risk partners to identify and introduce Artificial Intelligence tools into driving efficiency within Risk Management
Partnering with the EVP of Risk Management in managing broker and carrier relationships, relative to our annual practice insurance renewal programs, to include reviewing and negotiating quotes, binders and policies for the best outcome
Oversight of all Risk Managers and Insurance Brokers with the project specific placement of insurance to ensure consistency and best practice with securing competitive pricing and quality terms and conditions being negotiated and secured
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree, Risk Management / Business
7-10 years of Retail Brokerage experience, preferably in support of the construction industry
7-10 years of Risk Management leadership experience
Strong leadership and management experience (direct reports 3-4+, team of 8-10+)
Strategic leader in the innovation, development, implementation and management side of alternative risk financing
Strong communication, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills
Ability to travel one to two weeks per month
