Responsibilities
Serve as the category expert , driving business growth and portfolio performance through commercial, product, engineering, and operational excellence
Own key performance indicators related to portfolio and new product revenue, sales growth, and contribution margin health
Spearhead and maintain accountability for new product development and project throughput , proactively mitigating obstacles
Develop annual and 3-year category strategies based on market potential, customer opportunity, and new product platforms
Lead category “Right to Win” definition and ongoing SWOT analysis updates
Conduct comprehensive market and competitive landscape analysis , including segmentation
Support and guide product teams through product trend analysis and gap identification
Identify and analyze new product opportunities through trade shows, customer visits, and field research
Manage the product portfolio across profitability, market share, growth rate, segmentation, and lifecycle phases , including perpetual gap analysis
Act as the primary lead for cross-functional program coordination , requiring advanced data collection, consolidation, and project management
Lead annual pricing reviews , SKU rationalization , SLA milestone reviews , and process updates
Own the product portion of customer category line reviews
Drive ad hoc initiatives requiring cross-platform coordination and executive-level visibility
Maintain clear, effective communication with Director-level leadership and above , highlighting business opportunities, risks, and alternative solutions
Co-develop and co-lead customer pricing, sourcing, and service strategies in partnership with sales, category management, and supply chain teams
May have direct responsibility for coaching and developing Product Managers, Assistant Product Managers, and/or Product Coordinators
Provide indirect leadership to a cross-functional team including engineers, material managers, and procurement professionals
Mentor emerging talent by increasing focus, prioritization, and consistency to drive new product development success
Qualification
Required
7+ years of Product Management experience with increasing responsibility and demonstrated wins
Experience managing a diverse and complex product portfolio
Proven track record of launching multiple successful consumer products and developing supporting sales and marketing strategies
Highly analytical mindset with strong P&L ownership and financial acumen
Deep understanding of product development processes and operations management
Strong project management and cross-functional communication skills
Dynamic customer-facing abilities with adaptability in presentation style
Advanced PowerPoint presentation skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
Preferred
Strong preference for automotive technical expertise
Bachelor's degree in Business preferred
