Responsibilities
Own and manage a multi-state outside counsel network, currently supporting 10+ firms with plans to scale significantly
Serve as the primary relationship lead for assigned firms, including regular performance reviews, KPI tracking, and corrective action plans
Drive firm performance against key metrics such as placement-to-suit, service rates, judgment rates, cycle times, post-judgment recovery, and cost-to-collect
Ensure files are properly handled and transitioned throughout the litigation lifecycle as portfolios evolve
Establish and enforce SLAs, timelines, and performance expectations once accounts are placed with firms
Partner directly with attorneys, legal operations, compliance, and leadership teams through weekly meetings and regular onsite visits
Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements across documentation, workflows, and reporting
Support onboarding and offboarding of law firms, including due diligence, pricing discussions, and ongoing governance
Leverage legal and AR platforms (e.g., YGC, CLS, JST, Cogent or similar systems) to monitor performance and reporting
Utilize Excel and data tools (SQL preferred) to pull reports, analyze trends, and drive data-backed decisions
Participate in litigation matters as needed, including providing testimony or serving as a knowledgeable witness
Ensure adherence to applicable federal and state consumer protection laws (FDCPA, FCRA, SCRA, privacy standards)
Lead and mentor a small team of vendor managers and legal operations support staff as the function grows
Qualification
Required
8+ years of experience in legal operations, legal collections, litigation management, or outside counsel/vendor management
Strong working knowledge of consumer litigation, defaulted debt, and judgment enforcement processes
Experience working with or managing law firms handling high-volume litigation portfolios
Demonstrated ability to manage firm performance using KPIs, scorecards, dashboards, and structured reviews
Advanced Excel skills; SQL or similar reporting experience strongly preferred
Experience with legal or accounts receivable software platforms
Preferred
Paralegal or formal legal training is a plus but not required
