Chief Stores Officer, Bergdorf Goodman

Responsibilities
Leads all store initiatives for a high-volume, flagship location with complex operations and a large multi-level leadership structure
Drives sales performance, revenue growth, and profitability in alignment with company vision, values, and long-term strategic goals
Provides direction and oversight to the Store Leadership team, proactively identifying risks and removing roadblocks to uphold operational excellence
Defines strategic objectives for the store, establishing clear priorities and actionable plans
Continuously monitors internal and external customer insights, market trends, and competitive dynamics; adjusts strategies to elevate performance and client engagement
Develops and manages the store budget, ensuring disciplined cost control and maximizing return on investment
Partners across Merchant, Planning, and Corporate functions to drive integrated initiatives and business improvements that achieve measurable results
Champions cross-functional communication and collaboration to ensure unified execution across store departments
Leads Store Leadership meetings that foster trust, open dialogue, innovation, and accountability
Oversees senior leadership teams for both the Women’s and Men’s Stores, ensuring alignment, performance, and partnership
Owns storewide leadership of people, product, placement, and promotional strategies
Recognizes high performance, addresses gaps with urgency, and ensures a high level of managerial accountability
Adapts leadership style to effectively support, coach, and grow leaders at various levels
Establishes goals aligned with company and department objectives; provides guidance and support to ensure successful achievement
Develops, motivates, and mentors the management team, fostering a culture of excellence, empowerment, and continuous learning
Ensures frequent and transparent communication regarding store vision, priorities, and expectations
Oversees scheduling and workforce planning aligned with business needs, promotional cadence, and client service expectations
Embodies and champions Bergdorf Goodman’s culture, values, and luxury heritage, ensuring a world-class client experience
Partners closely with Store Leadership and Saks Global teams to execute key strategic initiatives and elevate the in-store experience
Provides leadership, guidance, and best practices related to floor coverage, clienteling, and service standards
Cultivates strong relationships with customers, vendors, merchants, and brand partners, ensuring a cohesive and premium experience
Leads customer service initiatives, managing escalations and reinforcing a deeply client-centric culture
Advocates for the needs of clients, team members, partners, and the community to support a holistic service ethos
Drives new account acquisition, loyalty, and clientele development programs, inspiring the team to meet and exceed targets
Qualification
Required
15+ years of relevant experience, with direct luxury fashion retail leadership required
Senior-level retail management experience with large-scale, complex operations required
Demonstrated success leading organizational change and transformation
Proven track record delivering results across multiple business categories
History of building, leading, motivating, and developing high-performing teams
Strong business acumen, analytical capabilities, and decision-making skills
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives, presenting at the executive level, and collaborating across corporate functions
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; high level of attention to detail
Collaborative, solutions-oriented, and committed to a 'win together' culture
Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds, as needed
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs
Ability to travel up to 20%, as required
