Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain backend services in Python that support document ingestion, processing, and AI-driven workflows
Develop and evolve scalable APIs and data pipelines to support high-volume, low-latency document processing
Build and maintain user-facing features in React, with a focus on usability, performance, and reliability
Architect and operate cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP, including deployment, monitoring, and scalability concerns
Collaborate closely with ML, product, and design partners to translate product requirements into robust technical solutions
Lead or heavily influence technical decision-making, including system design, tooling, and engineering best practices
Improve system reliability, security, and observability as the platform scales
Mentor other engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture (for Lead-level candidates)
Qualification
Required
Strong experience building production backend systems in Python
Experience developing modern frontend applications using React
Hands-on experience deploying and operating systems in AWS or GCP
Degree in Computer Science
Solid understanding of API design, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures
Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment where ambiguity and ownership are expected
Ability to work across the stack and make pragmatic tradeoffs between speed and long-term maintainability
Preferred
Experience building or scaling AI/ML-powered products, particularly in document processing, NLP, or data-intensive systems
Familiarity with asynchronous processing, message queues, and background job systems
Experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and production monitoring
Prior technical leadership experience, including system ownership or team mentorship
